3rd Nepal Open Savate Championship 2026 Held Sucessfully

The Third Nepal Open Savate Championship, organized by the Nepal Savate Association has been successfully completed on 30th January, 2026 at the Basketball Hall located in Bhaktapur District of Nepal. All level of Athlates, Coachs, and Referees from 31 districts participated in the event.

Players competed in 39 different weight categories for both male and female divisions. Winners and outstanding  performers in the competition have earned the opportunity to participate in the 7th Asian Savate Championship, which will be held in Nepal on 28th April to 4rt of May 2026. Speaking at the program, Nepal Savate Association Founder President Laxman Basnet said that such competitions play an important role in the development and expansion of the sport of Savate.

The winners of the competition were awarded by the Chief Guest, Former State Minister Biraj Bahadur Bista, and Special Guest Deepak Lama, Member Secretary of the Bagmati Sports Development Council, along with other officials.

Association Vice President Rajiv Kandel and General Secretary Siddhi Byanjankar distributed medals and certificates.

President Basnet who is also a Board Director of the Asian Savate Confederation Said that Nepal has made remarkable progress in the sport of Savate since 2023, it was informed that this year we trying to have successfully secured excellent positions in Some of  weight categories in the world rankingsand who can Participate at the World Combat Games Indonesia 2027.  Also he said that the association is moving forward with the goal of enabling even more players to compete at the international level in the coming years. Officials of the association stated that in recent years, the popularity of Savate has been increasing in Nepal and Nepali players have been delivering strong performances at the international level.
